As part of its activities regarding the handling of hazardous refrigerant waste, Tazzetti Fluids conducts tests on all waste received at its Casale Monferrato (AL) facility to determine:
- the suitability of the waste received for the treatment process, from both a technical and a legislative perspective.
- the destination of the refrigerant waste (regeneration and/or disposal), on the basis of the parameters identified for each single container.
The tests conducted by Tazzetti identify the following parameters:
- refrigerant fluid type (Composition, % p/p)
- refrigerant fluid moisture content (p.p.m.)
- high boiling point residues – mineral/synthetic oils (% v/v)
- non-condensable gases (% p/p)
On the basis of the above parameters and in accordance with current national and EU legislation regarding the production, commercialisation and use of refrigerant fluids, the waste is sorted for regeneration or stored for subsequent disposal by methods defined by the Montreal Protocol on harmful substances for stratospheric ozone.
Similarly, Tazzetti Fluids also performs on-site sampling and tests on:
- Pressure containers (bottles, roll drums, Iso-tank containers and storage tanks) containing refrigerant fluids.
- Small, medium and large air conditioning/refrigeration systems
in order to
- determine, before transfer to its proprietary collection and treatment facility, the destination of the waste.
- verify the chemical and physical characteristics of the fluids in the installation, as indicators for the causes of problems or malfunctions.
- prevent future problems through regular monitoring of the properties of the refrigerant fluid.
